How do I make an appointment at Newsom Eye?
Book online or call the office nearest you. Carrollwood and South Tampa are (813) 908-2020, Sebring is (863) 385-1544, Brooksville is (352) 596-4030 and Gainesville is (352) 377-7733.
What are your office hours?
All five Newsom Eye locations are open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Which location should I go to?
Whichever is most convenient. Cataract surgery, LASIK, glaucoma, cornea, dry eye, retina care and routine eye exams are available across our locations, and your surgical coordinator will tell you which surgery center your procedure is scheduled at.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of your medications and your current glasses or contact lenses. If your eyes will be dilated, bring sunglasses and, ideally, someone who can drive you home.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept Medicare, Medicaid and a wide range of commercial medical and vision plans. See our insurance page for the full list, and verify your specific benefits with your carrier before booking.
What if I have an eye emergency?
Call us immediately and describe your symptoms. Sudden vision loss, a curtain or shadow across your vision, a shower of new floaters, or severe eye pain with nausea and halos all need to be seen the same day.
Can I keep my current eye doctor?
Yes. Our co-management program is built so you keep your optometrist for primary eye care while having surgery with our surgeons.
Where do I find patient forms?
Patient forms are available on our website ahead of your visit, which saves time in the waiting room. Our team can also email them to you.
