Dr. Newsom is known worldwide for his surgical skills and experience. One particular patient branded Dr. Newsom’s surgical results and ability when she said, “I don’t tell people I have NEW EYES, I tell them I have ‘.’” From that day on, the term  was born and has been used by patients to describe their life-changing experiences, from glasses and contacts to surgical procedures.

Raising standards… Newsom Eye has raised the standard in LASIK surgery by committing to the safest environment possible. LASIK procedures are performed in the same operating room as intraocular (cataract and retina) surgery. Tampa Surgery Center’s Class C operating rooms are certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This certification maintains the highest level of sterility in order to prevent infection or contamination during surgery, and is not required for LASIK. Dr. Newsom made the decision to go above and beyond the standards for LASIK to ensure the safest conditions for his patients.
